Today's lesson strongly focused on globalization, how it's created, and how it connects to us personally. Globalization is the process of integration among people, companies, and governments worldwide. There are two processes that facilitate this. These are transportation and communication.
Transportation can help facilitate globalization because it allows for people in different areas of the world to be more connected to each other easily instead of having to go on long, dangerous journeys (I.e. sailing ships over unpredictable oceans). When these people and areas are more connected, they can share ideas easily and promote globalization. Communication also helps facilitate globalization because it allows for ideas to be exchanged through the push of a button. Things like the internet are available in thousands of countries around the world, connecting everyone to one easy to navigate platform so everyone can share whatever they want, even if the person they're sharing it too is thousands of miles away.

You may be thinking 'okay globalization is cool and all but what does it do for me?' Well actually, each and every one of us are connected to the process and help it grow. For example, even the shoes on your feet could be from a completely different area than you live. But, the shoe style and idea was spread to you through the process of globalization. As we buy goods imported from different countries, we're promoting the spread of goods and companies between people we know and the original creators. Another example is, if you bought a shirt online that was made in France and begun wearing it in America and telling everyone about it, you are promoting globalization because youre helping to spread the company and idea to people in a completely different area of the world.
